Little Adventure’s Winter Belle costume has always been one of our favorites, so when we found out they were changing it we got a little worried! We shouldn’t have, because once again, Little Adventures made it even cuter! The new version is a cross between their now discontinued Deluxe version and their traditional version. This new dress has a crushed velvet top and China Silk (polyester) skirt. It also has adorable gold accents at the collar, on the bodice, and on the sleeves.

Like all of LA’s deep red gowns, it matches beautifully with the red cape, red roses headband (shown) and other accessories that can be shared with their Snow White dress as well. There’s a new matching 18-in American Girl sized doll dress available as well.
The new dress is only $1 more than the old dress. Little Adventures has don a great job of holding down costs so they don’t have to increase the cost of their dresses.

Like the Cinderella we posted yesterday, Belle got a makeover for 2010 by Little Adventures as well! This new gown has more roses at the neckline and short cap sleeves, rather than being sleeveless like the previous version. They also added ruffles and gold trims. The dress is photographed with the optional fullness slip. There’s also a updated matching 18-inch doll version – it’s adorable!
We have a very limited amount of the 2009 version of the dress and doll costume still available. The new version is available now!

We’re so excited to see the new 2010 dress-up costumes by Little Adventures! The first we’ll highlight is Cinderella. The new dress has a lot more detail, an improved bodice with a flattering square neckline, more silver trim, and ruffled hip drapes. We really love this updated costume!
The new costumes are $1 more than the older styles and we have a very limited quantity of the older style still available. We also have a few of the older style 18″ American Girl Doll size dresses and of course a new doll dress for 2010.

Tomorrow we’ll highlight the new Belle costume!

Second in our series of favorite Halloween costumes. This one replaced the Pink Pauper costume and is even more adorable that its predecessor. Perfectly sweet and perfect for a Renaissance Faire, costume party, everyday imaginative play, or Halloween party.

Recently I saw an opportunity to review some costumes and I was taken aback, it was August. I normally have no concept of what day it is but was I really that out of touch? Flashbacks to last year and I recall how the good costumes get taken. Anyway I managed to get a wonderful witch costume (part of their Simply Spooky line) from the Princess Time Toys online store (you can also check out their blog for some great ideas).
The costume was black, purple, a touch of orange and had trimings in green so already I knew my 4 year old would be deliriously giddy since that was her favorite color. I truthfully hate shopping for Halloween costumes as I have been pretty disappointed with many aspects previously.
When did wearing a costume become something comparable with dressing like a tramp? I mean do what you want with adult costumes but with kid’s costumes at least show some decency. Call me a prude but I would love my preschooler to look cute, not sexy. The fit of the Witch costume was generous yet still very child-like. I was thrilled to see something that brought freshness yet innocence to a costume.

Gabby in her Simply Spooky Ladybug Costume - Photo Credit: Super Mom Central
Each and every day in our home, we play dress-ups. We don hats, skirts, gloves, shoes, capes, purses, wings, headbands, belts – and we play! And each day as my kiddos “pretend”, indulging their imaginations and running wild with creativity, I hope they are soaking in the message that they can be anything they want to be. The sky is the limit! Which is why I happily plunk down good money for our Halloween costumes. They will be loved/used many times over and I want them to be well-made, sturdy and long-lasting because they aren’t just something silly for a night - they are an investment in my childrens’ imaginations.
These are the standards I used when SuperMom Connie from Princess Time Toys generously sent over a darling ladybug costume for us to review. I simply handed it off to Gabby and she excitedly put it on all by herself (yay – that’s one gold star)! Of course, she looked seriously adorable in it (gold star #2!) .
