Season two of the hit series for kids age 2-7, “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” premiers on 2/13/2012 with a with the first ever primetime special presentation, “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns.” This special event happens only on the Disney Channel and will air from 7:00-8:00 p.m. ET/PT and feature six original songs. In this special premier episode, Peter Pan returns to Pirate Island to enlist Jake, Izzy, Cubby and Skully in finding his lost shadow.
Starting Monday, February 6, DisneyJunior.com/PeterPan will feature “Jake’s Countdown to Peter Pan” and the debut of a new two-part game, “Shadow Shenanigans.” In this fun game, players take on the role of Peter Pan’s shadow to try to wake the sleeping Jolly Roger crew and then play a shadow matching game.

New Amsterdam Theatre's Ceiling Art
The Walt Disney Company treated me to a tour of their historic New Amsterdam Theater and without the audience, I really got a chance to look at the marvelous architecture and artwork. I could have spent hours inside and I would have loved to have gone backstage, but although Monday’s are generally dark days, this particular Monday rehearsals were going on for a charity show.
Lucky for me though, as I got to see another Broadway show’s cast at work. Brilliant! After watching the rehearsal and seeing the performers create the piece on the spot, we continued our tour of this stunning piece of art.
You may know the story, it’s as old as time after all, but Disney has brought new life to their already fantastic Beauty and the Beast by upgrading it to 3D and returning it to the theaters for a short time. See the movie that’s loved by billions with new eyes and new 3D glasses! Surely it will be even more enchanting and magical.
As a special guest of Disney I’ll be seeing the movie this weekend in New York City and I’ll let you know if adding the 3D was a hit or a miss. I’m betting that it’s going to be fabulous and I already know I’ll need to bring a box of tissues. Not so much because of the movie, but because of the amazing memories I have of seeing this movie in the theater the first time with my kids. One on my lap and the other mesmerized on the edge of his seat next to me clutching his kid-sized popcorn. Those boys are now 23 & 26 and I miss my little ones.
